With a little over two months until my next birthday, it's easy to start worrying about accomplishments--or the lack thereof. Until I read this article by David W. Galenson in the Washington Post dispelling 5 Myths About Genius. While many artists are indeed wunderkinds, Galenson points out notable exceptions such as Mark Twain, Alfred Hitchcock--and even Clint Eastwood, who didn't begin directing until he was in his forties and won his Oscars after he turned sixty.
Ah, there's hope for me yet!
